Baildon Carnival returns this Saturday, 8th July, and we’ll be there with our famous refreshments tent! We’ll be serving our delicious home baked cakes and sweet treats, as well as freshly cut sandwiches from 1pm to 4pm. As usual, we’ll be raising funds for our charity which is currently Zarach, who provide beds and basics for children living in poverty.
You can see the Carnival parade when it starts from the central roundabout at 12 noon, with road closures along Northgate and Jenny Lane while the procession continues. A diversion will be in operation from Westgate and returning to Moorgate.
The parade will be led by a pipe band to Jenny Lane playing fields, arriving at 12:30 and playing at the stage until 12:45 when speeches and awards will begin. The carnival will then officially open at 1pm!
As well as our refreshments tent where you can stop off for lunch, there will be community group stalls including Scouts and PTFAs, family games and activities, and fairground rides. And of course there will be fantastic live entertainment from local bands, dance groups, music ensembles and more.
You can find us at our new pitch right by the Carnival entrance, next to the playground. We’re still offering our fantastic meal deal for £5, which includes a sandwich, soft drink, and piece of cake of your choice.
